In response to the market need for better braking performance, Jacobs and Navistar worked together to develop a joint-branded engine brake that provides a new level of braking power. From design to production, Jacobs worked closely with Navistar to bring the new engine to market with remarkable swiftness. 

The new 5783A Engine Brake by Jacobs for International A26 engine applications, increases engine braking performance by up to 67% at lower engine speeds utilizing the new Variable Geometry Turbo.  This engine update improves driveability, increases foundation brake life, and lowers total cost of ownership in trucks equipped with the A26 engine.
