A Jacobs engine brake is featured as optional equipment on the Tienlong truck. Jacobs and Dongfeng have had a good, longstanding relationship, dating back to the Model 615s, an old RVI product.

Jacobs developed the JVS Model 615 Compression Release and Exhaust Brake Synergy for DFL dCi 11Diesel Engine. The Model 615 engine retarder (Jake Brake®) works on the Compression Release principle, actuating on a single exhaust valve and is an Exhaust Cam operated  “Cross Motion” System. Model 615 is used in combination with the exhaust brake.

Jacobs continues ongoing development of new products with Dongfeng.
